Tucked away on a quiet Cul-de-Sac, this classic updated 4 bedroom, 3.5 bath brown shingle home offers a serene outlook. As you enter through the gated driveway you immediately notice the artfully landscaped garden surrounded by heritage Redwoods, Douglas Firs and Palm trees. This distinctive residence has a living room and dining area with a cathedral ceiling, fireplace and lovely wide planked walnut floors. The custom chef's  kitchen with a grand scale  center island and a breakfast nook lures both family and friends to just hang out and socialize.  An adjoining family room with fireplace gives way to a spacious and gracious deck overlooking the valley. Down the hall are three bedrooms including a master suite with a walk in closet, balcony and a ensuite bathroom complete with a  sumptuous bath  and steam shower. The downstairs features a guest bedroom with luxury bath, a large office, a laundry room, and a fitness/yoga room with hardwood floors. The outdoor spaces  of this 4/10th acre mini estate are  just as extraordinary as the inside. An expansive flat  front yard is shielded by 20 ft tall hedges and three mature palm trees. At the one end there is a play house, tree house structure and swings. Above that is a blue stone patio for lounging and  reading , basketball or ping pong. An adjoining storage room  is perfect for bikes, boogie boards and other sports equipment. On the upper side of the house is an impressive outdoor kitchen and barbecue area paved in bluestone beneath the open trees. This is an ideal place for gathering and entertaining overlooked by a dramatic 20 ft sculpture carved from a Redwood tree. Farther down the stone path is a large hot tub spa  with a hydraulic roof, an outdoor shower and a sauna with views of the top of Mt. Tam. Immediately accessible to the finest award winning schools, the home is also just a stone's throw from Woodlands Market, bike paths and Larkspur's renowned restaurants, bakeries and coffee houses.

51 Hillcrest Avenue

One of the most spectacular features of houses in Larkspur is the scenery surrounding them. Redwoods rule in Larkspur. In Baltimore Park and Baltimore Canyon, giant redwoods grow straight out of the road, while the streets gently curve their way around these massive trees. Tucked away under the redwoods beneath Mount Tamalpais, Larkspur boasts a great dining scene. The main street, Magnolia Avenue, is a vibrant destination for food lovers who frequent restaurants such as Pizzeria Picco, Emporio Rulli, and the Left Bank Brasserie. The Lark Theater, also on Magnolia, has been restored to its art-deco glory by a community effort and screens first-run films. The Larkspur and Corte Madera Creek paths run a few blocks parallel to Magnolia on a former railroad right-of-way and are popular with families, dog walkers, and bikers on their way to Point Reyes.
